I recently watched a wonderful movie titled One Night in Miami, a fictional story of Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, and Sam Cooke. As I thought about Malcolm X's message to African-American people I thought it must’ve been so difficult in those times to believe in yourself and to believe in the possibility of yourself and of people of color. In a world where you are not accepted how can you accept and believe that you are capable. This year racial justice movements are all around us and it gives me hope that the efforts of the past were not in vain, that they were capable of pushing us forward now. As a school leader it is easy to compare my school and the efforsts of my school to others. Right now, I am reminded that this is not a time to compare ourselves to others. We are in a pandemic, we must accept who we are and the accomplishments we have made in our given situations.
